Mohammad-Nasser Barakat

Nasser has an MBA in Professional Accounting and a BS Degree in Banking and Finance.  He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Control Self-Assessment (CCSA).

Nasser’s experience in Auditing and Banking covers many years. Throughout his career, he has occupied several positions in the fields of Auditing and Financial Consultancy and was the Partner and Service Line Leader for the Middle East Business Risk Services at Grant Thornton. Nasser has supervised the design, implementation, and evaluation of internal controls and the implementation of Risk-Based audit methodology in several well-known organizations across the Middle East. Nasser has served as a board member in a number of well-recognized companies in the Middle East region and was selected as a member of the Allinial Global EMEIA Board in June 2022.

Nasser was responsible for supervising the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for several organizations operating in several industries including a Major regulator in Saudi Arabia. This includes conducting a detailed Risk Assessment for IT functions in several well-known banks.

Nasser has also supervised outsourcing and co-sourcing internal audit assignments and conducted special audits/ forensic investigations for several well-known organizations in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, and UAE. He has also supervised the implementation of Risk Management systems and a Risk-Based Audit methodology in several organizations across the Middle East region.
